2,700 Year Old Discovery
In Washington, as part of the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, pressure will now be exerted on Israel to cede part of her capital, Jerusalem, to the Palestinians. Ironically, and almost miraculously, while this is going on, a 2,700 year old Hebrew inscription has been found just outside Jerusalem’s Old City walls in what was once the “City of David”. The Hebrew inscription dates back to the 7th century BCE – the time of the Prophets! When this was written, the Temple of Solomon was still standing!
The inscription provides us with a name – a Hebrew name. Across the millennia we can now make contact with a real person who lived in Jerusalem almost 3,000 years ago when it was already the undisputed capital of a Jewish state.
His name was: “Ryhu Benaiah”, and I guess he wanted his voice to be heard in Washington.
