Temple of God Found?

Holes attest to beams. The finding corresponds to the site of the first Temple after the Exodus.
Is it me or does there seem to be a flurry of biblical archaeology lately that perfectly synchronizes with the biblical narrative? According to the Torah, the Ten Commandments were housed in the Ark of the Covenant which, in turn, was housed in the tabernacle known as the “tent of meeting” i.e., the physical space where the Jewish people met their God. When the Israelites conquered Canaan, the tabernacle became part of the temple of God in Shiloh. And it stood there for almost 500 years until the temple in Jerusalem was built in the 10th century BCE.

Now Hananya Hizmi, staff officer for archaeology in the Civil Administration of Judea and Samaria, has announced a unique find among the ruins of ancient Shiloh; holes carved into the ground which could have held the beams of a temporary tabernacle like structure.

The full findings will be announced at a conference of the Shiloh Association later this week. In the meantime, the Israeli daily Israel Hayom, has published an advance story: http://www.israelhayom.com/site/newsletter_article.php?id=10391
